About Us

The Spark Foundation was formally known as The ISP Children's Foundation. It was established in 2003 and changed its name in 2015 as it no longer has formal links with ISP.

The Trustees of Spark are as follows.

Danny Chesterman (Chair)
Danny had his first career in personnel management before becoming a coach and management consultant specialising in public services, especially health and social care. Much of his work has involved helping individuals, teams and communities achieve more of their potential and lead others in challenging circumstances.

James Whitton (Treasurer)
James has worked in the IT industry for the past decade, helping partner organisations and individuals develop and grow their businesses. Recently his particular focus has been on assisting small organisations in developing countries to expand their knowledge of security solutions and create employment opportunities in their region.

Kirsty Ginn
Kirsty was fostered with ISP for over 5 years and worked as a teaching assistant within the ISP school system. She received a grant from the Spark Foundation which helped her achieve her goals. She would like to extend this help to others so they can achieve their full potential. More....

Sheila Patel
Sheila has been a foster carer for 20 years. As well as being a foster carer Sheila's other role is Principal Advisor for Foster Care in the Integrated Services Programme (ISP). Sheila feels that good communication and liaising with professionals is one of the best methods of helping a child to thrive. Sheila and her husband have fostered over 100 children in this period of time and still have contact with most of them today. They continue to attend weddings, Christenings, birthdays and Christmas together.

Tracey Sorrel
Tracey is the Policy & Practice Advisor at the Integrated Services Programme (ISP) Central Office. Tracey has worked as a Residential Social Worker within a therapeutic community setting and is a qualified Further Education teacher.

Cathy Walker
Cathy is a retired Executive Headteacher and has worked in education for 39 years. Throughout her career she has had a particular interest in ensuring that vulnerable adults and children have opportunities to access all aspects of education and support to achieve their potential.

Irene Hall
Until recently Irene was a development manager in London with the charity Citizens Advice.  Previously she was the Manager of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in Swale. Currently she is retired but doing pro bono work for a number of charities.

Adam Brankin
Adam lives in Sittingbourne and has worked with youth offenders in a secure setting and a children’s home for 8 years. He currently works for We Are With You as a Team Leader for Mind & Body supporting young people with their mental health. He has just finished a social work degree.
